Working On Their Science Projects
I wish that I thought of using the Livescribe Pen yesterday. In class, my students were working on their final project on structures (for the Grade 1′s) and simple machines (for the Grade 2′s). While they were working, I tried to take photographs of the learning, but as I sat back and watched the students problem solve together, I thought to myself: I wish I could capture this. Initially I thought that a video camera would be great, but it was really the dialogue that I wanted the preserve. There were such good conversations on science, and while I heard them, nobody else did.
This audio recording would be evidence of learning. This audio recording would support the learning skills for group work and independent work. This audio recording would had a whole new dimension to this activity, and with the Livescribe Pen, it could be done so easily as well. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
I’ll have to remember this for the next time.
Have you used the Livescribe Pen in this way? What were the results? I’d love to hear your stories as well!
