Brooke McPherson passed on this way of using livescribe pencasts to communicate with the school community. She played a PDF pencast on their vtv (video announcements). The announcers share the screen of the computer so students see and hear the pencast from their classrooms. Below is an example pencast announcement for Link Crew.

    Cool idea! How did you start with the words link crew already on the paper before the pencast started?

    Hi there! Everything you write on the page before recording (but with the pen on) will start on the page as black. Then, as you are recording the rest of what you write will show up in green in time with your recording. Take a look at the next post too – its two examples of a wood shop teacher who made a framework for his lesson at first and then filled in the parts as he went.
    So, basically – everything you write on the page before recording will be there when you start already (just make sure the pen is on while you write it, but not recording).
